The Orcnest
It all begins in marketplace Augon vin of Tharbad. A large man yells out with a high-pitched voice: "I'm a trader on my way to Minas Thirith. It's a long journey and I need protection during since the road there might be dangerous" He pauses and then adds: "I will pay the brave men well" He smiles and shove the audience his four gold-teeth. "You will recieve half now and the other half when we get to Minas Thirith. Anyone interested?"
"How much do we get?" asks an old man with long gray hair. "Seven gold" is the reply and the crowd starts to mumble amongst themselves. "Who will join me?" (Some of the PCs feel the urge to adventure and the need of the money. If you want to go, just step forward.)
"Splendid, you're just the people I need" The trader seems very satisfied with the PCs appearence. The Crowd is dissmissed and you're left alone with the fat man. "Are you ready to leave tomorrow. Unfortunately I can't give you any money right now. These are bad times and you can hardly trust your own mother. I hope you can find a place to stay tonight. I'll see you tomorrow at dawn, god afternoon." He walkes away slowly and you're left alone, thinking about what an odd person he was. (What do you do?)
You wake up by the first light. You don't have time for any breakfast since you a message boy informs you that the trader is waiting for you. The message is signed by Efraim Emrad of the Antaric tradeassociation. The boy will show you the way to the wagons. Efraim wants to leave as soon as possible and you're offered to ride in the wagons with him. "I heard the rangers spotted a pack of orcs in the north yesterday. So if we hurry, we have a chance to avoid the ugly creatures. If you have never seen an orc I can tell you they are ugly, yes almost as ugly as my horrible wife." He laughs. "I heard that." The voice came from one of the wagons and a large woman swinging a pot with both hands steps out. Efraim starts running in the opposite direction, but you don't have time to see the ending of this comedy. A man shouts. "Lets go" and the wagons start. All and all there's six wagons. During a couple of hours you get to now the rest of the people and you have a good time. Then you see some riders comming closer. (What do you do?)
"Halt, identify yourself" says one of the raiders. "I'm Efraim Emrad of the Antaric tradeassociation and these are my loyal guards" he points at you. "Where are you heading?" The reply is quite simply Edoras to buy and sell merchandise. The man excuses himself and leave you alone as he and his fellows ride in the opposite direction. The caravan travels another mile and then you set camp for the night. You get food and plenty to drink. By dusk he tells you that at least two of you should stay awake and guard. You may decide by yourself. The camping spot he has selected has been used by rangers and scouts before. It is close to the woods and hard to defend.
Right around midnight you hear a terrifying howling sound. (An easy intuition will enable the PC to identify the sound as wargs. They have three rounds to act before the attack is made.) There's about 30 normal orcs, 20 weak ones, and a strong one leading the charge. They will kill everyone except for Efraim and his wife, and the PCs if they are smart enough to lay down their weapons. The survivors are taken to an orccave where there's another 10 orcs and a troll. The ruler of this cave is Grulf, a huge orc with a +20 elfslaying sword. He's wearing a plate and a shield at all times.

You're pushed through the woods by the stinking orcs. You travel long and you are completly worn out by the walk and the beating you recieve. At last you come to a cave with a big opening 7x5 (21'x15') meter. At each side of the entrence there's an orc. One is scratching his balls and the other one is picking his nose. It is almost pitch-dark in the cave and you will lose your sense of direction. The stench is tremendous and you want to vomit while you walk on stone floor. You are thrown into the dungeons where you lay for what seems to be an eternity. The walls are 8 (24') meters high and absurd to climb. Suddenly you hear the noice of keys unlocking a door and you hear in Westron with a bad accent somebody say: "Come with me" You are the entertainment of tonight, when you will have to fight a fellbeast, with a broken wing, which makes it difficult for him to fly. Painfully you move after the voice and you notice that it still smells bad, but still a little bit better than before. After a while you come to a large room and around you there's lots of orcs cheering, but worst of all is the light. You are totaly blinded for 2 rounds. There are torches along the wall. You now meet the orc-leader Grulf for the first time. He delivers some quick orders to the guards and then you're moving again. Into a corridor leading to an arena. Now you notice that Efraim and his wife are not present. Suddenly you hear a stunning shout, which makes your blood cold. In front of you a big door opens and a frightening beast stand before you. The beast has a head like an eagle without feathers and 3 (12") decimeter long teeth. The body is black (about 8 (24') meters long)and the feet are equipted with long claws. Your weapons are thrown to you. At the same time you see how Efraim is punctured by five spears and his last words are: "Save my wife........"
The orcs are cheering and the big fellbeast looks at you. (It's up to you now, how are you going to survive and perhaps even save Efraims wife.)
