SPECIMENS

Bars with round cross sections:

• Basic material : continuous casting or ingots
• Processing stage : rolled or with tooled surface
• Diameter range : 20 to 80 mm
• Length : 3 to 12.5 m
• Straightness deviation : max 1 mm/m
• Bar ends : without protruding burr
• Flaws to be detected : internal flaws (> FBH 1.2)

Testing chamber with guiding rollers for tracking of the probes by the bars, rotating with up to 1.5 m/s circumferential speed, with 6 ultrasonic probes for angle beam propagation and longitudinal flaw detection (3 in clockwise direction and 3 in anti-clockwise direction), and 2 ultrasonic probes for internal flaw detection by straight beam propagation.
