MY STEINWAY GRAND

When I purchased my Steinway Grand in 1997 a dream came true. The piano is made in the Hamburg factory in 1917. It's totally restored from the ground, and the condition of this masterpiece is just perfect. The length is 175 cm (5,8 feet), width 148 cm (4,9 feet) and have a weight of 277 kg (610 lbs.). The pianos color is ebonized. The Steinway pianos are no mass products, and today there are only 5000 pianos made worldwide.

The 190 kilos (418 lbs.) cast iron plate provides a rigid and stable foundation needed to hold approximately 20 thousands kilos (44 thousands Lbs.) of string tension. Over the cast-iron plate are the 230 strings fastened. Each key and the dampers which hits the keys must be weight off and calibrated for consistent feeling. A tone regulator listens intently to the piano's pitch and turn the tuning pins with a tuning hammer to adjust string tension. Now it's ready to play

With a Steinway piano you are the owner of a superb musical instrument. The Steinway piano is built with supreme care. It is const-ructed of the best materials available. It is the finest example of the piano makers craft. As a Steinway owner you are a part of discerning inner circle of the music world, which includes most of the immortal names, associated with the piano. If you buy a Steinway piano you have purchased a thor-oughbred and it should be cared as a such.
