To Canucks: Beranek & Isles' 4th pick

Two good centers switch clubs. One with a great reputation, Damphousse, and one late bloomer, Beranek. The difference between them is 1 year of age. Damphousse have for a long time been a great player in the NHL but recently he has slowly but surely gotten worse. Beranek on the other hand exploded onto the scene recently and is currently the better player. However with Damphousse you know what you get, a reliable source of points with gret leadership. Beranek might dissapear as quickly as he appeared. The difference in them in LML is that Damphousse's contract expires after this season while Beranek has 4 years to go on his... A financial move by the Canucks as well as one for the future. However Damphousse is indeed the better player, as he influences the players around him in a much more positive way then Beranek.

Isles made a good move here as Beranek could very well be obsolete very quickly. He might be a one or two season wonder while Damphousse will contribute until he reitires and that is no near time soon.

To Hawks: McCarthy

Isles get a proven scorer in Sanderson. They give up a goon. A talented goon, sure, but still a goon. But on the other hand they get another goon back. However itäs not that simple, unfortunatly. Sanderson has scored les and less goals in the last years and he seems in decay. Still a good scorer and he plays for a team that is succesful too. Probert is getting old but he still knows how to whoop some ass. McCarthy on the other hand is probably the best all round goon in the league right now. He can kick ass as well as play defense and offense. His merit is to have humiliated Lemieux utterly by kicking his ass so much that the family of Lemiux refused to even look at Claude for the next years. He got his ass kicked so much that when he woke up he blames the LAPD. "Why can't we just get along??" he uttered with sobbng in his pussy ass voice in worthless goddamn mouth... pathetic really by a pathetic player... Anyway, that was kind of sidetracking. McCarthy brings toughness and talent into the Hawks. Basically what they gave up in Sanderson and Probert theu gain in one person, exept that sanderson is a better scorer...

Hawks had depth and wanted to get better, younger and cheaper so they did. Isles got a great scorer for their second line and they got it. They also replaced a goon with another so they lose nothin' in toughness. Also remember that in Hawks a certain Domi plays! Domi & McCarthy!! Hope they gang up on Lemiux in the next games... and kill him once and for all!!
