2 struggling teams do battle

Pens at Canucks: Pens love to play on the road, but they are not fans of playing other conference based teams. They have 2 straight wins and they have found a way out of their slump. Canucks have collapsed completely. Nothing is going right for them and they are being destroyed by every team they face. Fitzpatrick in goal has not exactly improved his value recently. 2 straight losses and only 3 wins in their last 10 played games, for a team many expected to give the Avs a real hard time... They are good at home but hate to play Eastern teams. Jagr leads Pens with 26 pts and HatcherD is 2nd with 12 toghether with Straka (4th liner). Burke in goal has been exellent for them, outplaying himself almost every night. Sundin and Modano lead the Canucks with 22 and 20 pts. Neither Fitzpatrick or Barrasso have been good, they haven't even been average. Pens have a great boxplay, one of the best in the LML. Canucks do not... Pens have scored 1 more goal then the Canucks, but they have let 20 goals less in! Bodger and Fitzpatrick are both injured for the Canucks so Barrasso will probably start the game. Prediction: Away or at home doesn't really matter to the Pens when it comes to playing a team with no confidence and that is in a real deep crisis. Jagr will probably have a field day... Pens by 7-4

Dogs at Bolts: There is only one point between these teams and who would have thought that at the beggining of the season? Coyotes, the Conference finalists have been playing very defensivly, at the cost of scoring goals. They have scored the least ammount of goals of all the teams in LML. However they have a great record defensivly... Coys now have 3 straight losses and the coach is on a bed of nails. Bolts have turned things around with 2 straight wins and life looks a lot more pleasent for mr.Legaspi. Cullen & Rechi have 6 pts each and lead the Bolts in scoring. Salo is surprisingly still finding confidence in his coach, while Skudra is left out in the cold. Roenick leads the Dogs with 11 pts, Satan has 9. Khabby has been brilliant in goal for them and that's their mealticket. The special team units are slightly better for the Coyotes but not by much. MacIver is injured for the Coyotes. Prediction: Bolts on a roll and Coyotes out in the cold, but Coyotes will do anything to break that deke! Recently Bolts aquired a lot of experience and that seems to be paying of so expect Bolts to be reborn! Bolts by 3-1

Hawks at Wings: A derby! A Central division match up and two GM's that know each other from the inside and out. Both teams are having dissapointing seasons. Wings dumped Yzerman, will Hawks dump Chelios? Hawks have hit a bad slump recently and they lost all their games since Chelios came back form his injury... Wings seems to have found the winning path once again and they now have 3 straight wins. Fedorov has 21 and Shanny 18 in Wings. Surprisingly Donovan has still 0 pts! Osgood in goal has seen better days too. Amonte has 29! pts and Zhamnov 19. Hackett is having a bad season and Terreri will look to get a chance pretty soon. Wings have a better special teams unit but especially their powerplay kick booty. Prediction: The Wings have been miserable at home, but on the other hand they prefer playing Western teams. Hawks have a better team and they must get out of the bad slump of their pretty soon if they wish to conquer a playoff spot. Hawks by 4-3

Canes at Blues: Canes have been red hot recently. That has boosted their ego immensly and now they seem to believe they are the best team in LML too. Recently they wined about not being named coach of the month and now they whine about not getting one of their players to be named player of the week... This could open an opportunity to the underrated Blues. Canes' players will probably just whine and bitch about anything that goes against them (divas) while the hard working, honest and good people of Blues will do what they do best: win. Canes has 6 games in a row won, which is incredible. Blues is up there in the very top of the Western Conference. Stumpel has 21 pts and Reichel 14. Belfour has been the game winner for the Canes lately and he has a great season. Weight has 29pts and Savage 22. Fuhr is also playing well in goal which makes the team hard to beat. Canes hs the worst powerplay while Blues has one of the best. Canes on the other hand posses a better boxplay then the Blues. Prediction: Canes have been hot but now it will probably end in St Louis. Weight & Co will weight a little too much for the Canes' newfound egos and nobody in LML will probably mind the Canes getting a reality check. Blues by 5-2

Stars at Panthers: Stars are struggling and struggling bad. On the other hand that was expected. Panthers have finally found their way out of that deep hole they dugg recently. 2 wins in a row and they look slightly better. The team was expected to dominate the East but have found difficulty in living up to that picture. Both teams are having nightmares about playing teams from other conferences. Muller has 22 and Dvorak 17pts for the Panthers. Jokkinen is having problems this season, as he had last year. The Beezer is starting to pick up his game and now he seems more confident and ready to play. Bradley has 18 and Nieuwendyk 13 for the Stars. Puppa is one of the few positive things in Dallas. Both teams have bad powerplays but the boxplay of Stars is impressive. Iafrate injured in Florida. Prediction: Panthers have the better team and now that they have found their way out of the swamp they might blow out the Stars tonight... Panthers by 6-2
