The fourth movie is directed by french director Jean-Pierre Jeunet ("Delicatessen") and is in my opinion right after the second one in quality. It has some really cool characters, and a very nice script. The Ripley character has also managed to develop, which gives the movie a more interesting story, which was necessary to keep interest up after four movies in the same line. Since it is the newest one, it also stands with the best special effects, they are really great! The scene where the alien are swimming in the water is very nice to watch, but I think that there are too many computer animated aliens, instead of using puppets like in the old days. That brings a more live feeling about their movements and all. But, like I said, thatīs just what I think...

The story

Scientist aboard the USS Auriga has managed to clone Ripleys body from some frozen blood samples from Fiorina 161. Their purpos is to pick the alien chestburster, which is a queen,  out of Ripleys body. They succeed and starts to breed more aliens. Of course, these aliens manage to break loose and starts to feast on the crew. Those who doesnīt manage to escape gets ripped open, except for a few...a band of smugglers, some staff members and Ripley, who survived the alien extract operation are the only ones left on the ship, aside from a bunch of vicious aliens. But, Ripley has now changed slightly due to a mix of alien and human genes caused in the clone process. These survivors now have to get their way to the smugglers ship, the Betty, and escape. This is not easy, and on their way they become, of course, fewer and fewer.

In the end, we also meet the new alien breed: the Newborn, a genetic mistake as a result of human and alien mixture of DNA during the cloning. This new alien manage to get onboard the Betty  just when the band is ready to take off, and the final battle takes place inside the ship, similar to the final battle in Alien (well, in principal at least).
