Dick Wase is one of the leading researchers in Gothlandic medieval history, and especially the one of the city Visby.  He has written several articles in this object and this spring

(1998) he's publishing two books about Gotlandic history from this epoke.

Dick Wase är en av de ledande forskarna i Gotländsk medeltid, och särskilt den rörande staden Visby.  Han har skrivit många artiklar i detta ämne och denna vår (1998) publiserar han två böcker om gotländsk historia från denna epok.

Dick Wase works as a leader of a Cultural projekt in Stockholm.  Except for his researching in the history of middle-age Gothland he has also written theater and music conserning this subject.

Among others he 1995 wrote a play for the theater-group WATS on Gothland, concerning the earliest known antisemitic persecution in Sweden.  Under the plague 1350 (The great death) the court of Visby had 9 men burned at the execution place, "jews and other evil-doers".

As a descendant of immigrants from Belgium in the early 17th century and from different peoples/tribes during mans history in 2000 years Dick Wase finds it important to work against racist-ideologies, fear of strangers, ignorance and religious and national chauvinism.
