TOOLS

I have here gathered some very useful links to a veriety of different tools that you can download for free and use to assemble your own mighty homepage creations. This page will show you that a nice homepage doesnīt have to cost you one single dime! In time I will add new programms as I find them.

WEBDESIGN/BASICS

When creating homepages youīll first need basic programs such as a HTML-editor and a program to create and personalise your homepages graphics. When this is done you can add music and try some cool Javascripts. Animated gifs will also give an extra touch to your page. But Iīd like to put out a big warning flag for those animated gifs, donīt use too many! There is nothing worse than a homepage that flickers in every corner. You shold use the fact that the human eye attracts to movement and use animated gifs where you want the visitor to pay his/her attention.

What you must also think of is the fact that you canīt use too much graphics, that means that your site would become very big and heavy to download, most visitors hate waiting. A good homepage should be simple to navigate threw. Divide your homepage into categories and create an easy navigation interface with (to prefer) graphical buttons (like mine on the left side of this page). If you donīt know what you want your page to look like use the internet for inspiration. Thereīs millions of good looking pages out there to inspire you. Learn from others misstakes and good things. A good thing is to connect the looks of your page with the contents.
