Over the years, I've written my fair share of songs, and some of them even have good lyrics... Here are a chosen few. I've sorted them in categories, just for the sheer joy of it. Hehe. If you ever want to hear them, phone me and I'll sing them to you. Most of these songs are pop songs, and though I know I shouldn't like music that is so cheesy, these are my songs, and I've cried every tear shed in them and loved all the love, found all the words, thought all the thoughts. This is my life. So I like them anyway. Copyright is mine, of course. Unrequited Love - The star of this category, just because of the title... The song in itself is very tired, slow, sometimes the melody is almost howling. I performed this one with my band in a contest once, and we had really cool parts in the refrain... The lyrics are quite... fitting, even if they aren't that eloquent. Steamrolled Prodigy - One of my absolute favourite lyrics I've ever written. Wow. Every word is to the point, and the patterns (my way of thinking of and describing lyrics and it's form) are perfect. It's very ironic, this song. The song is very soft and warm, in contrast to the pain behind the words. I actually sang this song to the person in question, and he began to cry... Not because he understood what I meant, mind you, but still... *grin* Convince Me - this is a duet that two of my friends sang in that contest I spoke of. It's a man and a woman (or rather two persons of unspecified gender where one is attracted to the other, and the other isn't) talking about love. Quite bitter. The music is quite sappy, but that doesn't show in the lyrics, lucky you. Fated To Fail - Don't worry, these lyrics aren't depressing at all. This is actually a very fast and quite cheery song... I don't consider the lyrics of this song to be of any extraordinary quality, since they will seem better when they're sung, but I want to dedicate this song to Draco Malfoy (even though it wasn't written for him, of course)
Under My Skin - Modern Man - Some Believe - This is (she claims) the favourite song of my best friend, and I am deeply honoured and very flattered, and the lyrics are good. They're about different beliefs you can have and difficult questions, and I think that my opinions sneak in somewhere... Bravest Man In History - A ballad about a short sequence from The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. It's about a tragic love and a brave girl. And the repercussions of love spells (Shouldn't have said that. I should not have said that...). High Priestess Of Our Era - You know, you simply want to save the world, and people just turn you down? It sucks. But my High Priestess made it anyway... :) The Goddess will prevail. *evil laughter* I'm always surprised at how much I love this song. It's wonderful! Song for Beltaine - Song I wrote for Beltaine (duh). It's about the Youth and the Maiden and a Maypole and dancing and cheering... (Beltaine is a Wiccan holiday on May the 1st.) Song for Samhain - Much like a prayer, but it's about Samhain, too. (Samhain is a Wiccan holiday on November the 1st.)
