Historical novels:
Frans G.Bengtsson
The author of Röde Orm, which is a Viking story, in English it would be "Red Snake" (My translation). Not sure that this book is translated to English though. It is great. One of the few books I have read twice. Sorry, those of you who cannnot understand swedish, do not bother to look at this site...
