Larry Norman - In Another Land

Larry Norman's album In Another Land (IAL) CD from 1991 exists in two versions (Yes, it exists other versions as well, but not from 1991). Here are some inequality observations and also pictures of the CD-booklets of the two albums. The most rare version is, I suppose, the eariest edition. When I ordered my first copy of IAL on CD, I got this version but when I later ordered extra copies the cover was changed to a new one.

The front and back covers are different, on the first edition the front cover looks more like the 25th aniversary edition cover (like the original LP cover), without the Solid Rock Archives frame.

The old booklet has a lot less pictures, actually only two inside the booklet, but one of these is not included in the new edition. The picture of Larry together with Cliff Richard (or Rich Cliffard as it says in the old liner notes of IAL...) can only be found in the first edition.

The first edition booklet has 20 pages while the second edition booklet has 32 pages. The information in the old edition is the same as in the (more common) new edition, it is just that the new one has a more nice layout.

The printed disc labels on the two versions are apparently the same, and the CD label number is SK 7771. But if you look closer on the second edition disc, you see that printed around the hole in the disc are som small tiny letters (hold it to the light on the backside) saying Dynamic Laserdisc GMI SK 7817 . So, it looks like the second edition CD label has an alias, SK 7817. Looking closer the same way on the first edition, you see that SK 7771-1 is mentioned.
Except for last mentioned difference the disc prints are very lookalike! At first I thought that the disc prints where exactly the same so I scanned just one of them and used the picture twice. But Frode Stallemo helped me to discover that actually on the first edition the title says "SOLID ROCK ARCHIVES" while on the second edition it says: "SOLID ROCK ARCHIVES VOLUME ONE".

Actually the the two CDs contain exactly the same songs. Both CDs have 19 songs and the total playtime of the first version is 49.36 but for the second one the playtime is 49.35 (on my CD-player). When checking the times for the songs I see that some songs are cut a bit different on two versions - see diagram below. This makes the later edition to be little shorter.

Note that the black and white images are scanned with a very high resolution, this way you'll be able to read the tiny font used in the booklet. I have scanned only parts of the booklet to give you an idea how it looks like.
