arriving at 04.00 am at karachi international airport and having the taxi stopped 4 times by the police on the way to ymca hostel. i was looking forward to see how things would develop. why pakistan ? interest occurre when i visited expo ´92 in sevilla. they had some lovely pictures of the northern part of this country. there are some major mountain ranges, the hindu kush, karakorams, himalayan. when i started reading some books of the region i came over the indus valley civilisation which flourished here around 2500 to 1500 bc.so i had to visit some of the southern parts to. even with a rough start i think this country was a highlight on the trip.
