The Volvo C303 "Valpen" "Terraincar 11" 1979

This is a from the beginning a military vehicle but this one is civil. We bought it from a powerstation who had it to get out in the woods for serving powerlines. It's a very capable terraincar but it's nearly made just for offroaddriving. You can drive it on the highway but it's under noncomfort. But take it out in the woods and it's one of the most capable originalterraincar in the world! With portalaxles and a clearence on about 40 cm you can go where others don't go and don't dare to try. The car is also equiped with mechanical diffrentiallocks in rear, center and front differential. With everything locked the car is nearly unstoppable. The only boundary is the driver. The onle weaknes the 11:a have is that it's very heavy with overdimensioned axles and so its weight stop at about 2500 kg empty. That makes it very easy to sink in the swamps but with high speed and snowchains or Super Swampers you can manage to pass even the deepest swamps. We have modified the 11:a a bit with for example airintake on the roof which do the 11:a capable to drive in about 2 meter deep water with out enginfailure. The suspension is also modified to get the car to follow the terrainbumps better. The engine is a volvo B30 straight six cylinder , trimmed and leaves approximately 150-160 hp compared to the original motor at about 112 hp. The engine works with a four manual 4 speed gearbox and a High, superlow gearbox.
