I work at Bofors Missiles AB in Karlskoga. We use many engineering applications, such as I-DEAS, ANSYS, DADS and so on.

We use mainly SUN workstations, a few fortunate individuals have ULTRA 1 or 2's, and even a few ULTRA 30's. Most of us, however, have to settle for the slower Sparcstation 20's (WITHOUT graphics hardware!) Imagine running I-DEAS without hardware-assisted 3D!

The ULTRA's are equipped with 256 Mb of main memory, the Sparcstations with 128 Mb. 256 Mb sounds like a lot, but is quickly used up when solving larger FE models. I wish our computer-department understood this...

1. I-DEAS (fun! fun!)

2. DADS (crappy GUI, but fun when you succeed at building a model)

3. FrameMaker (UGH!....not!)
