the Stockholm Guitar Trio

The Stockholm Guitar Trio was founded in 1993 and has given nearly 200 performances all around Sweden since then.

The Ensemble consists of three young but experienced guitarists Anders Karlsson, Jakob Henriques and Jens Kihlén.

The ambition of the Stockholm Guitar Trio is to increase and broaden the possibillites of the guitar, regarding both repertoire and timbre.

The repertoire includes contemporary compositions for guitartrio as well as traditional music from the Classical era.

The major part of the repertoire consists of their transcriptions &endash; among the composers one notes Maurice Ravel, Isaac Albeniz, Enrique Granados and Wilhelm Peterson-Berger.

Due to its experience of performing in a variety of contexts, Stockholm Guitar Trio has a very broad and adaptable program of music.

The Trio often works together with other musicians and composers, which has resulted in, among other things, that new music has been written exclusively for the ensemble.

In 1996, the Stockholm Guitar Trio recieved the prestigious Stockholm County Council Culture Scholarship.
