Fredrik's album chart

16/9 2001 week 37 #408

This week Sam Phillips enters the chart at #1 with her new album 'Fan dance'. This is a low-key album compared with her last album 'Omnipop' that come in my hands in 1999. After buying her 'Omnipop' I got hold of most the rest that she released as Sam Phillips. She has also released albums under her real name Leslie Phillips before becoming known as Sam. Just behind on the second place we find Nina Gordon with her first solo album that started to listen to again. I saw the video for her brilliant song 'Tonight and the rest of my life' this week for the first time. She has also released her third single from the album called '2003'. On third place we have the 1998 release from the Swedish band Mobile homes. I bought this album for sometime ago and it has many good songs. Another Swedish band Charlie's magazine enters the chart at #15 with their debut album called 'Sweet alibi'. The album was released in April and I have just discovered them through their great single 'Sweet alibi'. There are two other new entry's on the top 50, its Ivy with her third album and Jennifer Paige with her second album.

Next week Tori Amos releases her new album that called 'Strange little girls'. The album contains 13 covers and the first single is the title track a cover of a song from the Stranglers.

My favourite single at the moment is the first release from Heather Nova coming album (South) called 'I'm no angel'. It seems that rest of her albums are as good as the single and it will be released on 24th of September
