These performances from the early 1970's, represent characteristic productions without the greatest stars of Bayreuth, the Met and similar venues. There are individual performances of great interest and Sawallisch conducts the forces of RAI Rome far more than competently. Note that there are difficulties with recording level, notably in Walküre Act II, but scattered elsewhere. My apologies, but my original was imperfect.
