On 13 April 1975, an exceptional cast assembled in Houston for a rarity: a Donizetti opera other than Lucia or Elisir. In evidence whereof, here is the playbill. This recording was made from the stage, which offers both advantages and drawbacks over a recording from the audience. Unfortunately, there are serious problems during the last five minutes which I have been unable to correct. They sound like the cast is shaking a loose microphone connection as they prepare for curtain calls.
