These extended excerpts of The Ring in English were not typical of British acoustical recording. They are nearly unique records of some of the most noted voices of the era. They offer a unique perception of performance practice . The variety of artists and conductors somehow does not affect the sense of integrity of the work. Note that we have supplemented the issue with contemporary British recordings of orchestral passages omitted from the set.
