Aedon

The daughter of Pandareus, and wife of Zethus, king of Thebes. She attempted to kill the eldest son of her sister-in-law Niobe, because she envied her for the number of children, but ended up killing her own child Itylus in stead. She was therefor transformed into a nightingale by Zeus.
