| December 7, 1998 | More information about Screens has been released! When reading the specifications it becomes obvious that this OS will make real good use of the Amiga. 68040 or 68060, PPC and a GFX-card capable of displaying AT LEAST 800×600 in 16 bits are all needed to run Screens. Furthermore, 24+ MB RAM is recommended in order to run Screens and it's programs. This shouldn't be much of a problem since no serious Amiga user should have less than 32 MB of Fast RAM. Keep in mind that the specs may change over time though. |
| December 7, 1998 | As you may have heard, Digital Images are currently negotiating with ID software in order to bring Quake 2 to the Amiga. Thankfully Digital Images display true Amigianism by stating that such a port would ONLY be for the PPC. Furthermore, they've managed to recieve permission to port Wipeout 2097 to the Amiga! |
| November 17, 1998 | QNX? I'm happy as long as it isn't Wind...sorry...Virus (Virus and Illegal Action are trademarks belonging to Micro$oft). I mean, would you trust an OS saying "The Autopilot has made an illegal action, it will now be terminated." when onboard a space shuttle? No, didn't think so. Speaking of space shuttles, where do they fit in AIs master plan? Perhaps we'll be able to go into orbit with our fission-powered (no more 3A power supplies folks!) Amiga NG. After all, the software is there... |
| November 17, 1998 | If you're a high-end user (read: wise enough to own a PPC) you'll be pleased by this. On the homepage of a Swedish local dealer one can read that a new OS called Screens (cool name, a counterattack aimed at Windows?) is coming to the Amiga and the slogan denotes that it'll make use of WarpUP technology. Looks like we're going somewhere after all...:-) |
| November 12, 1998 | Ouch! Though fighting bravely the mercenaries had to retreat from the battlefield as Clan Risen overran the fort. I'm of course talking about the clan match AQM and CR fought during Sunday evening. The match that ended with the score 150 to 45, in CRs favour. Personally I had a wonderfull ping around 550 in average and the mercenaries were a bit uncoordinated, but nevertheless I enjoyed the game and eagerly awaits a future rematch. Next time we'll get'em haar haar...;-) I'll try to get hold of a demo from the match and until then you can check out a few screenshots in the Special section. See ya soon Clan Risen, real soon... |
| November 8, 1998 | Apart from improving the site a bit, I'd like to announce that the Amiga Quake Mercenaries will battle it out against Clan Risen tonight. Stay tuned for a full battle report! |
