| November 7, 1998 | You may have heard about the "official" QuakePPC from clickBBOM being released on Aminet. Well folks, it's a fake and it leads to the cancelling of a future QuakePPC from clickBBOM. If it became an excuse for never having planned such a thing, impulsive reaction for feeling betrayed or something else is unknown at the moment but my guess is that clickBOOM dropped the plans of a QuakePPC long ago. Here's a tip: buy Quake to support the market and play FastQuake for speed. Do only the latter and I'll personally cut off your balls. |
| November 7, 1998 | I'd like to inform those of you how doesn't know it yet: Vulcan won't make any games for the "classic Amiga" (classic my ass, the PeZe is goddamn antique!) and thus we'rebeing spared from their horrible AMOS-crap (which, by the way is the ultimate Windows'98-stability-emulator). There truely is a God after all! |
| November 7, 1998 | I'm a beliver...:-) |
| November 4, 1998 | Yikes! That was one quick site construction. Recycling really works! :-) Anyway, I hope you'll find your way around the site a little bit better and don't worry if some parts aren't full functional yet, they'll be alive and kicking soon enough. Quake on! |
| November 3, 1998 | Jon Jones, a.k.a. [AQM]Japes, and Michael Lagemann, a.k.a. [AQM]Batman, are now Amiga Quake Mercenaries. As you may know, [AQM]Japes have been a part of the clan for some time now and [AQM]Batman joined last week. Looks like AQM is going all TF :-) |
| October 30, 1998 | ClickBOOM recently announced not one, but THREE Quake contests so if you're a registered user check out ClickBOOMs new site! |
| October 27, 1998 | A new AQM site is under construction and meanwhile you can always take a look at the special section. |
| September 23, 1998 | I just wanted to remind you of the Quake PPC campaign initiated by Chris Page. Make your voice heard over at the World Foundry if you want an official PPC port! |
| September 23, 1998 | Marcus Gerards, also known as Logain of Clan Risen, made me update the links page with the new URL to Clan Risens homepage and he also said that the level editor Quest can create model (.mdl) files. You can get Quest from Aminet for now, but I'll add a link to it soon. |
| September 23, 1998 | It's been a while, but now I'm back and the AQM site has been updated. Ireland was great fun and the guinness was excellent. According to the guinness museum, the Irish drink two million pints a day (!) and remember that there are only 5 million Irishmen in Eire! |
| September 7, 1998 | I'll be going to Eire for a week on Wednesday and thus there will be no updates to the AQM site until the 18th. Make sure you'll visit the new site hosted by Chris Page and sign that QuakePPC list. See you soon! |
| September 7, 1998 | Information about Clan Risen can now be found in the Amiga Clans section of the AQM site. Oh, and they're still seeking members... |
| September 6, 1998 | Yes! Another Amiga Quake site has opened and it's The World Foundry's own Chris Page that's behind it. The site features level reviews and a SURE way of getting a LEGAL QuakePPC version. Board the flight to The World Foundry for further information. |
| September 5, 1998 | I've interviewed Graeme "[AQM]Highlander" Porter about his excellent conversion and you can read all about it in the Special section. Furthermore, Graeme needs someone that can record a multiplayer demo using the HVM conversion so that he can see how it performs during deathmatch play. This is so that he can regulate the volume levels of, say, the footsteps - ie, are they too loud? Are they too quiet? How far away can you hear them? He also says that "it would be interesting to see other player's getting fragged with the HVM :)". |
| September 5, 1998 | A massive amount of Team Fortress demos can be found on Clan Risens new homepage so if you'd like to see what TF is all about, get those demos, fetch the popcorn, and forget about that movie you've rent. Action videos have never been so cheap...:-) |
| September 5, 1998 | The Zeusbot demo mania continues as another two demos hit the AQM site. The first requires the Basewalk level found in the Killer Quake package and the second demo was recorded on the Skywalk level - a platform hovering in the air! Get them from the Zeus Tactica download section and you'll have a few trailers for the TF movies...:-) |
| August 31, 1998 | [AQM]Sykes demos reminded me of the fact that I haven't updated the Zeus Tactica for a while and so I decided to add a little demo of my own to my previous collection. Check out the Zeus Tactica download section to lay your hands on a ten-minute-long demo featuring myself versus five Zeus bots. |
| August 30, 1998 | [AQM]Syke recently recorded some demos of him playing against a number of Zeusbots. Each demo features some excellent fragging and some very good examples of rocketjumping. There are three ten-minute-long demos all being around 300 KB in size. Education aswell as entertainment, get the demos at The Frag. Make sure that you've installed the Zeus bot before you run them though. |
| August 30, 1998 | Graeme Porter, also known as [AQM]Highlander, has now started an Amiga Quake development team so if you want to join the team or help him with the brilliant High Velocity Missile launcher conversion, mail him at graeme@tsd-ltd.demon.co.uk. |
| August 30, 1998 | Clan Risen can soon offer everyone a CD containing TONS of Quake related material from ftp.cdrom.com. The CD will come with a very neat installerscript (I should know, I've translated it to Swedish) and A_Storm is still looking for people interested in translating it to other languages than English and German. The CD will cost about 10 DM and you can read more about it at Clan Risens homepage. |
| August 27, 1998 | Don't forget the BIG Team Fortress game this weekend at Clan Risens TF server. Make sure you've downloaded ALL the maps including the one used for voteing from their homepage. |
| August 27, 1998 | Graeme Porter, creator of the HVM, has joined the Amiga Quake Mercenaries as [AQM]Highlander and we are sure that he'll continue to contribute to the Amiga Quake scene as he's done with the excellent High Velocity Missile Launcher modification. Expect an interesting interview with Greame Porter soon. |
| August 24, 1998 | I would like to remind you the excellent Amiga store Syscom located in Stockholm, Sweden. If you live somewhere in Scandinavia I can higly recommend it. Don't miss their special prices on monitors if you're considering buying a BVisionPPC or a CyberVisionPPC. |
| August 24, 1998 | [AQM]Syke is not only a mercenary, but also the host for The Frag, an Amiga Quake site that has now transformed into a great Amiga games site. Although its primary function is to cover the latest developments in 3D games for the Amiga, The Frag will also cover other major games such as Napalm and Lambda. |
| August 24, 1998 | Graeme Porter of HVM fame is thinking about starting an Amiga Quake development team. If you're interested in helping out or just got a suggestion for his excellent mod High Velocity Missile Launcher then mail him at this address during weekdays or this during the weekends. |
| August 23, 1998 | Today MNN can report that Clan Risen is rumored to be preparing for a "dusk to dawn" fight next weekend. Strangely enough, The Amiga Quake Mercenaries had a minor pow-wow this night. The outcome of it? Well, let's just say that you should be around the #AmigaQuake channel next weekend... |
| August 23, 1998 | Now there are three URLs all leading to this site. They are: http://aqm.amiga.tm, http://home4.swipnet.se/~w-46939/AQM/index.html, and of course http://welcome.to/AQM that I think most of you use. Why three, you may ask. Well if one of the two URLs that are easy to remember fails then the other one is likely to function. Still, I'd recommend you to bookmark the real URL if you visit the site often (you'd better or I'll send [AQM]Syke to frag ya! ;-)) |
| August 23, 1998 | The level editor Quest can now be downloaded from Aminet so get going and make that level you've always dreamt about, but never played. |
| August 22, 1998 | Lennart Fridén terminated the clan search effort after less than a month due to poor response. This doesn't mean that the Mercenaries are leaving the scene, quite the opposite. - We're here to stay!, states their leader [AQM]MastaMouth. |
| August 19, 1998 | Christian Schiemann known as [Kiste] on IRC became an Amiga Quake Mercenary today and will therefore frag you on the TF server under the name of [AQM]Kiste. Better look out guys, he's a LPB (Low Ping Bastard)! |
| August 14, 1998 | The Amiga Quake Mercenaries has now truely become an Amiga Quake clan with the addition of Stefan Falk of The Frag fame and John Newman to the team. John was in fact the very first to enter AQMs clan search. Welcome to the clan guys! From the good news to the bad. CU Amiga is signing off with theOctober issue and thus I suggest that you take a look at the Special section. |
| August 13, 1998 | After a few great matches over at Clan Risens Team Fortress sever I've now changed my mind. Team Fortress is the king of mods (it's either that or the joy of playing against Amiga Quakers!) and if you haven't tried it yet, get it from Clan Risens homepage and head for the #AmigaQuake IRC channel. |
| August 12, 1998 | The Amiga Quake Mercenaries is about to become a real clan. I will soon talk to certain Amiga Quake players about joining, but if you're interested send me a mail about it! |
| August 12, 1998 | I hope that you haven't missed Clan Risens homepage and the AmigaQuake Team Fortress server they are running daily. Take a look at the Links section for their homepage or drop in at #AmigaQuake after 21.00 CET every day. You might even find me there under the nick of [AQM]Ctrl so come and frag some! |
| August 10, 1998 | It looks like a level editor for Quake called Quest is about to be released on Aminet. Better not miss this one folks! |
| August 10, 1998 | Welcome to the (almost) new Amiga Quake Mercenaries site. Much is still being changed so look out for new updates. |
| August 7, 1998 | I've been playing AirQuake for the better part of the night so I'm a bit tired. I just had to go online and tell you this...:-) And here's an URL you should check out: http://www.smo.uhi.ac.uk/quake/servers/. It's a list of active quake servers in Europe and it's updated every five minutes too. |
| August 7, 1998 | I'm back and I've got some GREAT news. First of all, I'm back. :-) Secondly, John Newman has joined the clan search so if you're looking for a guy that plays anything and everything he's your man. Head for the AQM HQ and check out the guns that are for hire. Oh, and there's now a Amiga Quake mailing list hosted by Mr.Worf of the Unofficial Amiga Quake Homepage. Send an email to majordomo@edc.ml.org without any subject and subscribe quake as the message if you wish to join. If you've got the slightest interest in Amiga Quake then you should join it. |
| July 30, 1998 | AQM Control will be on vacation for ten days or so, and when [AQM]MastaMouth returns he wants a lot of mail from you guys. This is the ideal time to enrol so take a look at the Amiga Quake Mercenaries headquarters. In meantime you can download the two new Zeusbot deathmatch demonstrations from the filepage. Make sure that you've installed both the Zeus bot as well as the Lunar Base map before you play them. |
| July 29, 1998 | MNN can today bring you a report about the situation at the AQM HQ. With 200+ confirmed kills, the astonishment of not reciving a single reinforcement is great. AQM leader MastaMouth says to MNN that "We've got supplies for a few months, but if the situation gets any worse we may have to evacuate the base!" |
| July 26, 1998 | This is MNN reporting live from the Amiga Quake Mercenaries site that just went online. The [AQM] site hosts several sections dedicated to various aspects of Quake including a clan site, a QuakeC bot site and MNN itself. Hopefully we will now see further developments of the Amiga Quake scene. |
