Kiss

Released 1974. Went Gold. Peaked at #87 and stayed 23 weeks on the chart.

Strutter One of their best songs and is still played live. Written by Stanley and Simmons. Catchy lyrics and the whole song just has that great rockīn roll feeling. Solid drumming by Peter and good solos from Ace.
Nothin to lose A Gene song. And you can almost tell from the lyrics. Itīs sad that they donīt play this one on tour since itīs a great sing-a-long song. Itīs hard to sit still when this one is on. And they seem real playful on this one, especially Peter.
Firehouse Written by Paul and another one that is still played today. This version is a bit too slow for my taste. But it still has that sexy rythm. A swedish paper once wrote that Kiss had always been able to write sexy rockīn roll tunes that made people burn from the waist and down. This ia definately one of them. The solo is also better live and I recommend the Alive! version if you want to hear this one right.
Cold gin Written by Ace but sung by Gene. A bit darker than the rest and it can be hard to get into but once you discover the sexy rythm (once again) I think youīll agree that it is one of their better songs. Also another live classic.
Let me know A Stanley song and not one of the good ones. Sometimes Paul makes it too simple and the song just rolls off you. Still, itīs better than the version recorded on the "You wanted the best"-album. Great finish though, and they used it live in another song. (Was it She?)
Kissinī time Their first cover. Is it from the Beach boys? A cute try but it doesnīt quite hold up against the other songs. But you canīt say that they donīt experiment!
Deuce One of their most popular songs ever. Still played live and used as an opener on many shows. I love Aceīs solo and the lyrics. Some of it sounds strange but not even Gene is sure of what it means...
Love theme from Kiss Everyone got writing credits on this one and itīs a poor try to do something musically good. Nothing more to say really!
100.000 years Written by Paul and Gene. (I wish they would write more together nowadays). Sexy is the key word here. Some good drumming here by Peter and one of those guitar solos that are based more on feeling than tecnique. Overall the guitars sound excellent and this is without doubt the best song along with Black Diamond.
Black Diamond A Paul Stanley master piece. The first part is sung by Paul and the rest by Peter, and this one really suits his voice. This has almost always been their closing song live. Once again itīs a great solo based on feeling. Rather strange ending to the song though...

The original and best??? Well you canīt look past the fact that this one includes many songs still played today. So this album has really earned the title "classic"! This is a must-have!
