No Doubt’s latest album, Tragic Kingdom, recently went gold, selling over 500,000 copies.
The California punk/ska quintet led by Gwen Stefani recently appeared on the back cover of Billboard to commemorate their achievement. The text of the ad reads "Ain’t ‘No Doubt’ about it. 500,000 and counting, thanks radio, retail, MTV and The Box."
Tragic Kingdom, on Trauma/Interscope Records is currently 24th on the Billboard 200 top selling albums. It has been on the Billboard 200 for a total of 15 weeks, peaking at number 22.
The strength of Tragic Kingdom can probably be accredited to the single "Just a Girl," which has received support from modern rock stations nationwide.
In fact, "Just a Girl" has spent 24 weeks on the Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks charts and is currently 24th, just above "Aeroplane" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The song is also 25th on the Hot 100 Singles chart where it was listed as the greatest gainer/sales for the week ending April 27th.
