- The story of The Soul
Preachers
- Part three:
1990
-
- After a long silent period The Soul Preachers were
formed again. In spring 1990, Hannu, Uffe and Jarmo got
together again. A band should have two guitar players and
Rainer "Raikku" Tuppurainen
from Hälleforsnäs joined them. Together they
formed The Soul Preachers #4 (actually #5, but the autumn
'88 jamming doesn't really count).

There are no pictures of Uffe, Hannu,
Rainer and Jarmo posing together.
Here's one with Uffe (left), Hannu and Rainer posing
without Jarmo. He took the picture.

- The group worked hard. A bunch of new songs were
written by Jarmo and the group went into a studio in June
'90 to record an album with 13 pop songs. The recording
session went fine and the songs were recorded but again
the group split before anything else happened. Uffe's
studies were finished and he moved to Lund in Southern Sweden. Hannu got
more and more involved with his other group, Dirt, and decided to choose them
before The Soul Preachers. Also, the multi-track tape
recorded at the studio went down just after the first
hasty down-mix. The album was never finished.

-
- In the autumn started Raikku and
Jarmo, the guitar players, to play some new songs without
any drums or bass. It sounded great, too, and got good
reviews in the local press after they played their second
gig in Hälleforsnäs, December '90. They called
their selves Crimson
Crickets at their first gig, also in
Hälleforsnäs.
