The Hellacopters are rock stars now. Last time I saw them (in Hälleforsnäs) only 75 people paid 40 SEK to see Hellacopters. Now there were 17 000 or something and they paid 700-850 SEK. OK, you could also see David Bowie, John Fogerty, Primal Scream, Johnny Cash and other stuff with the ticket, but anyway...
To play dirty, raw rock'n'roll on a big stage outdoors cannot be that easy. Hellacopters tried, but... I red in a paper that Hellacopters was the loudest band at the festival. Maybe so, but I would prefer it louder than it was.
It was good. It was even better than just good. But... Somehow I didn't enjoy it as much as I've done before. Is it because they're becoming so disgusting popular? Dregen is posing for women's magazines and doing advertising for telephone companies and everybody seem to like Hellacopters now. Maybe the guys in the band are not as hungry anymore? Maybe the time and the place was just totally wrong.
The sun was shining. It wasn't indoors. It wasn't so loud that it hurts a bit. I would rather seen the band in a sweaty club somewhere.
The Hellacopters are nice to look at, though. Nicke had bought a Stetson hat and looked cool. Dregen is always posing and showing up. Somehow he does it right, he doesn't scream: "Hey! Look at me! I'm beautiful! I'm the best!" He just does his posing and seems to be hurting instead. He is working hard for his image and has managed quite well: At the end of the concert the audience was screaming: "Dregen, Dregen..." instead of "We want more" or anything else. Right now Dregen is the star of the Hellacopters.

Of course the Hellacopters never played an encore. They couldn't. They had pulverized their instruments during the last song. At first, Nicke smashed his guitar (not the Les Paul, he broke a SG instead), Dregen didn't want to hurt his darling, instead he throw away their Fender Rhodes piano (Yes, Hellacopters had a piano player with them. I don't who the guy was but he played OK).
Robban wanted also to be seen. He kicked his drums down from their podium and started to chase them. With a sledge hammer! He cannot use those drums anymore, that's for sure!
