Photo © Jarmo Haapamäki 1996, all rights reserved!     The Hellacopters live in Hälleforsnäs 9/11 1996 The Hellacopters gave everything to the audience, although they wasn't so much of it. Less than 100 rock'n'roll lovers had paid a ticket to see and hear the most exciting new rock act in Sweden. I'd guess it was just a little bit too soon. Not long after The Hellacopters received their Grammis award for being "the best hard rock act in Sweden in 1996". After that they were in television almost every day and everybody knew who The Hellacopters were. Anyway, here they were in my home town (Hälleforsnäs isn't a town really, only a village) and kicked ass! The warming up act, The 45'ers, wasn't that exciting and when The Hellacopters entered the stage it was like somebody had dropped a bomb on the stage! Well, this concert was a long time ago. I had too see what I wrote in the local newspaper of the concert then. I wrote something like this: "The guys in Hellacopters are hard-hitting and skillful musicians. Very strong material. Wonderful stage show. No weak links. They were wonderful." I do remember that we could finally put Tomas Jonson together with Nicke. I'm not the only one who has claimed that they are look-alikes. I took a couple of pictures of them together and to my disappointment they weren't that similar to their looks. In some photos you couldn't tell them apart but not "live" in November 1996. Jonson is longer than Nicke...
