They are also called Lädernunnan in Sweden where they are from.
The legend tells us that the name is take from a striptease dancer from London. In 1979 they started their career in Göteborg .
If you want to but a label on them I think "industrial music" or garage rock is a good ones, e.g.Monte Cazzazza, Clock DVA, Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle is other than has that label.

Their are people some will explain them in a more social perspective but I'm not going to do that in this page. However, they have more and more moved to the "standard" rock&roll scene through the years.

Their inspiration sources is not difficult to hear, they have footprint from Velvet Underground, Iggy Pop and Patti Smith.
The profile for the group is special.They are cheeky and an strong feeling for the provocative e.g. they shock the audience by showing a porn movie at one of the first concerts. They have continued to do similar things,unfortunately, we've all witnessed death and war so often on TV, that we not care any more. They have also done some challenging tracks e.g. F.F.A. that have give them  headlines in the newspapers.

Tracks that they can be proud of is Primemover,506 and No Rule. Their records have show some uneveness but I think the breaktrough album is "International Heroes". And the the singer Jonas, he has always been the front figure for the group with his "talksinging" way a la' Lou Reed.

They have got most of their fans in the States but I would say that they also got strong home public, at least I'm one! And it would be great to see them enter the Rock&Roll scene again.
