Well, there was this rockn´roll party at the south city mountain.
And theioneband played.
First out was some Neil Young cover band, then local poppunkkings Java
and then us.
People had just started to show up when we were about to play. We saw
the show as a
warming up-thing fo the Hal Al Shedad-show. Anyway, there was 48 persons
in the tent
when we played. Dan counted them during the song Revolution Is On The
Way. He doesn't
sing that one so he counts things instead. Well, we played 9 songs,
four new ones. And according
to some of our friends in the audience, it sounded good! (ok, they're
friends, so what should one expect?) We also talked some (as we always
do) otherwise theioneband wouldn't be theioneband.
Overall it worked out quite alright! Thanks if you were there!!
About the picnic itself; It was ok, hare krishna were there and cooked
food and NSMPD-Sundsvall had a tent with information. Otherwise it kinda
sucked, all the people just sat outside of the tent and drank beer and
talked garbage. Only when Slut (the name didn't have the english meaning
according to the bandmembers) from Germany played, a couple of dozen of
people came in to listen. Fucking pathetic people. Me and Dan sat and thought
about how cool it would be if some old, retired people would show up at
the picnic and yell to the pathetic youth;
"DO SOMETHING, YOU LOSERS!! DO SOMETHING DAMNIT!! YOU APATHETIC FUCKS!"
It would have been so cool... But it didn't happen. So Dan and I decided
that we would do so when we grow old.
The coolest thing happened when I heard a familiar drumbeat while walking
through the picnic-area. I stopped and thought then I got it - ANGRY SAMOANS!!
WHOOAW! I told Dan and we went over to talk to the cool people. And they
really loved the Samoans. And they also liked Twisted Sister. Really cool...
Well, what can I say. Another wasted night. Maybe I'll quit this now and
do something---
