The Hal Al Shedad Show 7th September

Ok, so we played a show with The Hal Al Shedad from Atlanta/USA, Plastic Pride from Umeå and Endflow, locals. The show was supposed to be at Mysak, this little club with a cool stage and a rather small concert hall. But things fucked up and we had to crawl to Pipeline for rescue.
The stage there is bigger, although it's quite alright. But the concert hall is way too big! Or there are never enough people to fill up the entire room. Anyway, there was 80 punk asses had come to see the bands (plus a bucnh of loose people...). We were the first band to play. We had prepared a lyric-sheet with explanations for each song. We handed these out to everyone who was interested. So we did actually not talk that much on this show! However, we had a couple of things going on.

We played nine songs, the same ones as we played on the picnic last weekend. We opened up with Crossed-Arm Revolution and we actually had some sing-along by Pat and Klas so that was really cool. Then during the second song I think it was, Klas came up on the stage and broke his One Life Crew-record and during the song after that Johan X did the same with his ex of the same record! Really inspiring. Then we had the NJ-rebel of the month award! Johan X who has had the title during the summer got to come up and tell who had been chosen as the new NJ-rebel - Pelle Strindlund! Pelle is a cool guy who involved in NSMPD (swedish animal rights movement). He has really been working hard and been a driving force and inspired to action within the SVL animal liberation movement. Pelle was awarded with a shitty NJ-rebel of the month shirt.

Well, about the other bands. Endflow went on after us and I've seen them before and they're not bad but I'm not that into their music. They're kinda Snapcaseish but with a more rocking sound. The Hal Al Shedad really made a big impression on me! They're fucking awesome. It's not too often that we get to see great bands here in SVL so The Hal Al Shedad was an exception. It's a bit difficult to descibe their sound. Kinda smooth and poppy, with heavy drums and bass. The vocals are nicely sung variated with tempered screaming. They're kinda weird at times, and that might be one of the things I really dig bout them! So Plastic Pride headlined this show cause noone had heard Hal Al Shedad in SVL. Plastic are really a great live band. They got the audience moving with their heavy rock hardcore. They've got tempo, great riffs and hard rock singing/screaming. All in all this was a really great show.
