I started to work at ABB High Voltage Cables immediately after leaving WM-Data. I began my employment as a consultant to help out with assorted support tasks. I then assumed full support responsibilities when the PC Support technician left the company.
In October of 1998, I was responsible for training two interns. They were there to learn about NT adminstration, network adminstration, and PC Support/Help Desk tasks. I worked with them for about two months, at the end of which the trainees returned to school.
During late summer and fall, the company had a tremendous increase in personnel. In response, two new NT servers were implemented into the domain. There was a lot of work to do, and much of it fell to me to complete. In April, the company hired one of the trainees to help me; he and I have had our days full since then.
We now support 8 servers and close to 200 client workstations, plus a number of laptops. I've just about finished everything I set out to do at ABB High Voltage Cables.
So here I am, ready to face the next challenge. Whatever, and where ever, it might be.
