Filters
One of the most important things with a gardenpond is clear water, healthy plants, alga that is under control and healthy fishes. You have to remember , that in opposite to nature where enormous amount of water passes, a gardenpond has less amount of water that is burdened hard at the same time as the owner wants clear water. To support the ponds natural balance it is a good idea to install a filter. The biological filter will support a natural breakdown in a proper and milieufriendly way at the same time as it will remove visible particles mechanically. The filter will add oxygen to the water in an effective way wich is very important especially if you have fishes in the pond.

The most effective filters is "Dripfilters". The filter is placed beside the pond. A pump sprays the water over the filtermaterial where breakdown bacteria's is gathered to break down wasteproducts. That is why it is important that the filtermaterial has a big innersurface so that a lot of breakdown bacteria's can gather in the filtermaterial. It takes about 4 weeks before breakdown starts in the filter and the pump has to be on continuously, because the breakdown is depending on the oxygensupplies. A simple tip is to add Micro Start a couple of times during the season. It will help the breakdown to start sooner. When you choose a filter see to it that you choose Aqua Interiörs high-quality-filter with the unique clearwater guarantee.

filter1 This is the way to calculate wich filter you need::
If the depth is less than 75 cm for goldfish or 1,2 m for koi +25 % If the pond is in full sunlight more than 6 hours/day +25 % If the pond is placed in south or windprotected area +15 % If less than half of it is covered by plants +25 % Example: You have a pond at a 1000 litres 75cm depth in a windprotected, sunny area with some plants and goldfishes. Calculation: 1000L +25 % (sunlight) +15 % (windprotected) +25 % (some plants) = 1650 Litres. In the example you can use the GreenMachine 1500.

With help of the filter you get control over alga, refuse waste and with UVC-light there in no risks of green water.

UVC-light:
One of the most common algas in a pond is the float algas. The water turns green and you can't see the bottom. This alga can be difficult to get rid of but with a UVC-AGGREGAT it is easy. When the water from the pond is being lighted by UV-lights the float algas dies and collected in the filter. The UV-light reduces the dangerous bacteria's and the fishes in the pond will get healthier. Aqua Interiör uses a specially developed light-tube that spreads up to 3 times more light than conventional UVC-tubes and it lasts a whole season.

Algae
Algae are the pond's biggest problem. They will appear when the biological balance is distrupted. Specially in the early spring, when the sunlight is strong and the plants are still fresh. Ammonium is formed and is transformed into nitrit (poisonous) and with the help of the breakdown process it changes into nitrate wich the plants uses for nourishment. Seeing that the plants hasn't started growing properly in the early spring there is a surplus of nourishment and in difficult cases it can turn into a giant growth of algas. Algae is easiest to prevent with a rich vegetation so that the plants can break down the nourishment contents. It is good if you have a filter too. Water purification plants is very important for the pond's biological life. It helps to keep the waters quality good.

If the algae won't disappear in 14 days it is best if you try to treat the pond with an algapreperation. Before you treat your pond you can measure the pond's PH-value. If the value is to high you lower it with PH- and if it is to low you higher it with PH+. Algae that are stuck onto rocks you can get rid of with ALGOSTOP.
