Not everyone has an entrepreneurial spirit. It is, in a way, convenient to have a place of work to go to, where your paycheck is guaranteed, and you know what to do. But, the way I see it, the era of big manufacturing enterprises, employing thousand of people, is waning in the Western world. More and more workers are laid off, mainly for three reasons:
- C
omputers, robots and the Internet make production of goods and services more efficient; we do not need to be so many on the job anymore.
- B
ig companies are moving their production to countries where salaries are lower.
- T
he structure of those jobs that remain in the Western world, together with increasing taxation of salaried income, encourages small-scale production.
|

On top of this; rising unemployment in the Western world because of this structural change also encourages a new way of thinking. What are unemployed people to do with their time and their abilities? Why, try to do something on their own, of course!
This structural change should be seen as something good, something that provides us with an opportunity for self-realization,
|

to try our wings, to do something for our fellow man that he appreciates enough to pay for it, and something which we really enjoy doing.
The complexities of modern technology should not have to be a hindrance, but a help and support in running a profitable business without too much time and money being spent on computers, programs and technical support. |
