Mikael searching for the "Panther Falls", north of Lynchburg. It wasn't that easy - the falls weren't found. There will be a new attempt next weekend (then, with a map). Hopefully, there will be more water in the creeks later on. It's been a very dry summer.

38KB Linda, Peter and Maria at Tyresö, 31-AUG-2002

Mikael found the falls. Despite rain this past week, the water level was very low in the creek. The acute water shortage in Virginia has led to the governor banning all watering and washing of cars. Normally, Lynchburg gets its water from the Pedlar Dam but it is 11 feet below normal. Now most of the water comes from the James River instead.
