One evening in early June is dedicated to the white boats of the archipelago - in Swedish "Skärgårdsbåtens dag". The whole fleet of old, genuine steam ships and other passenger boats will leave Stockholm from Strömkajen for a trip to the small town Vaxholm. The voyage lasts one and a half hour. In Vaxholm, all shops and restaurants are open and quickly filled with people. There is live music in several places and the folk-dance team is performing. After a couple of hours in Vaxholm, the boats will return to Stockholm.
This is a unique opportunity to see all the old steamships leave Stockholm at the same time in a "steam parade"!
