Brief musical background
Rodney Steve
Born, Rodney Steve Lobos Vásquez, the 14th of march 1969 in Santiago, Chile.
By the age of 7, Rodney started to learn from his father how to play the guitar.
Later on, even to sing, at that time, Latin American music.
By the age of 10, Rodney, his parents and his four sisters, moved to Sweden, to stay.
In his 15th, Rodney formed his first Pop music group in Sweden: "Future".
By the age of 20, another called "Touch", and many other projects, in all cases presenting Pop/R&B music in English throughout Sweden, performing in different nightclubs, Song competitions and many other public events.
While Rodney got older he began to feel a drawn to his roots, Latin America.
He recorded then his first promotional single, "Ron & Kei", presenting in four tracks a mixture of European Pop with Latin American influence, one of those tracks for the first time recorded in Spanish.
The company "Swedish Music" in association with "Export Music Sweden" (ExMS)
Distributed this promotional CD to about 200 radio stations throughout Europe.
In 1996, Rodney Steve recorded a solo project, also a mixture of European Pop with Latin American flavor, only this time all in Spanish, for the Latin American audience, namely: Mexico. Why? Because it’s one of the biggest markets for Latin American and semi Latin American music in the world.
He participated in different live shows, TV-shows, Radio and interviewed by some of the leading newspapers firms in Mexico. All to present his mixture of European Pop and Latin.
