The initial sketches for Durango 95's debut were drawn in Zaragoza, Spain. After 40 days of travelling around Europe, the first, simple demos were brought back to Sweden. Mattias Beijmo (guitar) has written all the new material, and the result has been baptised Dolores. The ten songs on "Dolores" range from upbeat numbers as "Polarity" and "Such a Shame", to slower and somewhat singer/songwriterish songs. The first single to be taken from the album is the powerful, guitarfuelled "Such a Shame". A classic mixture of American rock acts such as Smashing Pumpkins and U2. Here, Mattias and Danne Björklund crank up the guitars, and are only overpowered by singer Malin Lindh. The duo controlling drums and bass are these days Finnish rock icon Teijo Pulkinnen and "Frez" Fredholm. |

The album is produced by songwriter Mattias Beijmo, who has his name on the sleeve of quite a few Swedish alternative recordings. The mix was put together with the helping hand of Thomas Hedqvist, producer of harder rock acts such as Misery Loves Co but also contemporary pop act Tekla. The collaboration has given a clear "edge" to the crystal clear melodies on "Dolores". Durango 95 will do shows constantly throughout spring and summer. The media has already given their approval to the tunes of Durango. Reviews of both album and shows has been positive, and the band has recieved a "Best this month"-award from musicmag Sound Affects. The latest from the Durango-camp is the collaboration between the band and publishers Regatta (Scandinavia) and Warner/Chapell (The rest of the world). Songwriter Mattias Beijmo has signed a deal with the two companies; a deal that naturally will pave way for "Such a Shame", "Dolores" and Durango 95 throughout the world in the future.
