Once the Landcruiser came back, Grace, Benjie, Emily, Michèle and Laura were put in it and Trevor and Val took them back to Kampala and the hospital. Elin, Matt and Jana got a ride with some Indians (now Ugandans) to the Red Chilli camp and Genevieve and Rick came later with some Israelis (very international rides!). Isaac, Sam and Tex stayed with the van because it had to be towed away.

So while Genevieve, Elin, Rick and Matt and Jana hung out with the warthogs and God at the safari camp, Grace, Benjie, Emily and Michèle, with Laura as support, were taken to a hospital to be treated. Michèle got her little cut superglued together. Emily's leg turned out to only be bruised. Benjie got the cuts on his legs stitched. Grace's cut was stitched. Her collar bone turned out to have been broken completely in two places and so she would need surgery. At first they said she would need to go back to the US to do it, but then they talked to this doctor and showed him the x-rays and he said he thought he could do it. So Grace talked to her parents about it and it was decided that her dad would come here for it. She was scheduled for surgery Thursday (Feb 3) morning.
