hoima

It took us about seven hours (of which two were spent around Kampala) to get up to the town of Hoima. Once there, we (the team + Leonard, Isaac, Sam and Psalm) went looking for a hotel since the one we first had booked was too expensive. So we found a really nice one and the management agreed to having three people instead of two in each room since there weren't enough rooms. So the hotel's a real blessing. Nice toilets and showers with hot water.

After checking in we went to the conference we were going to participate in. We didn't know exactly what we'd be doing in it that evening but we knew the theme was John 11 - "take away the stone" and we'd been asking God in the van about it. So some of us had things they wanted to share. When we got to the church we kind of recognized the speaker's voice... and soon we realised it was "the apostle" from BFC at Namirembe! So we listened to the end of his teaching and then we were introduced. Benjie and Laura did a couple of worship songs, Emily spoke and then Grace felt we were supposed to ask God for prophetic words for the people. So after the worship Grace got up and spoke, then Rick and finally Benjie. It was good. Afterwards, we went to this man's house and had real nice dinner. The potatoes were the bomb.

We woke up in the morning (to a muslim prayer chant and dogs going crazy), we washed our faces, we brushed our teeth, we had a very good breakfast included in the hotel fees, and then we went to work. We met to spend time before God and to ask him what he had in store for this day at the conference. Everybody had different things on their hearts to share, some things which had to do with John 11 and some which didn't (but as Genevieve said, God can take any topic and fit it into the rest). Some also felt we should do "Holy is the Lord".
