Fox and Hounds “The ratfilth are in sight commander!”, Little Smuttefutt the scout hailed his commander Borki Grudgemaster. “Finally!”, he responded. “Now we have the chance to avenge our fallen brethren. It’s taken us weeks to find ‘em, but by Grugni they are going to pay for killing our kin!”. He barked the order of forward march, and the stalwart Dwarfs started advancing towards the Skaven raiding party. Warlord Thazzatak of Clan Mors rubbed his paws. “Yesss, yess, we have found-found the Warpstone. Lord Morskittar will be pleased-pleased.” And, he mused, it would certainly be preferable to be rewarded rather than thrown to the experiments of Clan Moulder. Yes, it was fortunate that they had chanced upon the bandits who had stolen it, since there was less than a week left of his time limit. “Re-take the Warpstone now-now! Full attack!” he ordered, and the Skaven descended on the outlaw encampment. Armies: Three 2000-point armies - Dwarfs, Empire and Skaven. Forces: No army may include any special characters. As the human force consists of outlaw bandits they may not include any Knightly Orders, Greatswords or Helblaster Volley Guns. The Dwarf force must include at least one unit of Slayers (the closest kin to the killed Dwarfs) and may include a maximum of 2 war machines as they have been hurrying to catch up with the Skaven. If the Skaven force includes any infiltrators these must be deployed with the normal forces as there has not been time to scout out the battlefield further - the battle begins straight away! Special rules: At the start of the battle (after deployment), randomise which Human unit of 10 or more models carries the Warpstone. Deployment: All three armies should be deployed at an equal distance from each other. Victory!: All armies receive normal victory points, but no points are awarded for table quarters. In addition, the following special victory conditions apply:
Duration: The battle lasts for five turns. Author's notes: I'm note entirely sure that the number of additional VP's awarded are exactly correct, but that should become apparent after a game or two. When we played they were quite balanced. Anyway, I've always liked that circle idea with three armies after one another. Players are sure to become very frustrated at each other, having to fight one opponent when they are really after another! Written by: Lictor |
