LAPPDALEN, JÄMTLAND 1997
This fishing trip was too much, regarding to the terrible
weather, the hardship and the enormous amount of salmon.
We paddled over six lakes, more than 15 km.
Between three of the lakes the creeks were too wild,
so we had to pull the canoes through the creeks,
which was a difficult task.
We had to pull the canoes and the pick and pack
through a more than 500 meter long devlish swamp with
zillions of moskitos because the creek at that place
is too wild to attack. We were wet outside from the rain
and wet inside from the sweat.
After nine hours struggling, around 5 am, we finally
reached our lake and could put up our tents. We fried
some "palt" (black pudding) and went to bed.
Christer, my Jämtland best friend, had a tent,
very low-budget. So the rain just came through the ceiling.
Luckily for us there was an old log cabin in the camp area,
where we rised our tent. In the cabin we also made
supper and tried to dry our clothes.
But the reward for the hardship was enormous!
In three days I got around 65 salmons, some of
very good size.
Christer shows some of the catch.
Back to the fishing holidays!
