Who are we?
Here we are! Rockabilly
band "Braca Daltoni" (Dalton Brothers) from Negotin -
Serbien (part of ex Yugoslavia),
is on the webb from now on. This is a short story about
us and our band.
It was the autumn of
1989 when I and my schoolfellow Ljuba, had decided to do something
to wake up Rock and Roll in Negotin again. Ljuba was good on the
piano and he could
sing. Krcma was very good on the guitar and I on the bass. We had
started to play easy
songs from early 50's. It sounded good but our band was without
drummer. It wasn't
easy to find someone who wonted (or can) to play Rockabilly
music. Krcmas neighbor,
Cira, come to as with proposal that he can help as until we
find an drummer.
After one year of heavy
training it was the time for our first appearance in public. It
was a school dance,
and mostly of people was 15 years old. It was success. I never
going to forget Krcmas
words, "We are like The Beatles!" and our public was yelled,
shouted and screamed.
Songs like "C'mon Everybody", "Summertime Blues",
"Jeannie, Jeannie,
Jeannie", "Long Tall Sally", "Johnny B.
Goode", "Blue Suede Shoes", "That's Allright
Mama", "La Bamba" and "Rock Around The Clock"
and "Runaway" struck like
thunder.
1996 was the last year
for "Braca Daltoni". After more than 200 appearances and
concerts in we had
separated for good. Maybe... |
