Connemaras
Our first connemaras were Saga RC 840 and the gelding Toke, both by irishbred Holiday Prince. Toke was my riding horse and we competed mainly in show-jumping while Saga shared her time between riding and producing foals - although her first visit to a stallion resulted in her escape from the field, trying to find her way home again! We found her at  a pig-farm, so compared to that experience she decided that the stud farm was ok and the visit resulted in a nice  part-bred colt the following year.

Today we breed from two mares, one of them a daughter of Saga and produce one to two foals per year. Go on to "Mares" for more info.

Our choice of connemaras  was their good reputation for temperament and  riding, and these are qualities that we try to maintain in our breeding. We also try to keep a wide genetic base - not always easy! - and our stallion Ashfield Cathal Crobdhearg RC/IRE 991 represents different bloodlines from our mares. More about him on "Stallion"

Ashfield Cathal Crobdhearg - "Ash" belongs to the famous Sparrow-family that has produced so many talented jumping ponies. Ash is no exception - in his performance test in Ireland he had top scores for jumping ability and what he lacked in experience he made up for with his great enthusiasm and talent! His first year in Sweden, he had a short but succesfull jumping carreer under saddle, showing us what a really good jumping pony he is.

Ash

After being scrutinised by the Swedish inspection committee, getting good "grades"  for both type and conformation, he was ready to "use"and his first foals here were born in 2000.

They look promising and he seems to pass on his positive attitude to work and to life in general. Although halfhearted as I am when it comes to shows, I have to admit that I was quite pleased when one of his daughters, Halle Liffey, was young champion at the breed show in 2003!
