Our Daughter's Wedding
July 10, 1999
– TjäröPatrik & Kassie

In the summer of 1998 Patrik popped the question while they were visiting Grand Canyon. His sister Ida was along as a witness. Kassie’s Aunt Marie wondered if Patrik wasn’t afraid that Kassie would go over the edge, but I guess he knew what he was doing.
Cousin Wendy was contacted to make an extra special invitation to the great event. Taking place on an island, a nautical theme was chosen.
The evening before the wedding we had a rehearsal outdoors at the bridegroom’s parents’ house. Patrik’s mother invited the wedding party and closest relatives for a wonderful Swedish sandwich torte.
The big day!
The proud parents with their little girl

Time to get the show on the road.
Patrik and the preacher are waiting
– the father gives the bride away.

The musicians played, but it was so warm in their folk costumes.
Godfather Bobby read from the Bible.
A prayer for the newlyweds . . . . and then it was over.

Kassie’s cousin was Matron of Honor, Patrik’s sister Maid of Honor and his two brothers were both Best Men.

The mothers were quite pleased with themselves
– they finally got them to the altar!Afterwards dinner and dancing outdoors. Patrik’s mother baked the wedding cake, a delight to the eye as well as to the tummy.
