| Österlens Culture Bank is the driving force behind the project The marketing of a region. Skania is in a expansive period, with the new bridge connection to Copenhagen, the University in Malmö, wide band investment, rebuilding of infrastructures etc. Where is the Simrishamn region on this map and what needs and ambitions do we have? We believe in an extensive mobilisation of our resources and a new dynamic to bring the question of regional identity into focus. The spreading of good example, experimental workshops and mutual experience can provide the impulses for a innovative socio-economic development in our region. But, we see today no concrete or inventive platforms for a broad involvment in the development process and so we take that initiative ourselves. We begin with eight lunch meetings which we hope will attract a broad representation from the Cultural, Commercial and Political sections. We will create the ground for a new type of arena where participants from differing sections of the local community can cross-fertilize and form new partnerships. At the lunch meetings you will meet inspiring personalities from Culture, Industry and organizations around the the country, who have been involved in the strengthening and directing of development in their particular regions. Questions to them will be: What have you done and why? What risks and decisions have you taken? Collaboration? Results? From this region will come local inspirers. Questions to us are: how can we stimulate overiding and vital changes in our community and what are the consequences of the various scenarios?
