Here are some cool cheat codes for NHL 97.
Secret EA Sports Teams
In order to get the two secret teams in NHL '97 you must do the following:
Go into the credits screen.
When the picture of all of the Programmers appear, type pioneer.
Let the credits finish and then play in an exhibition game. Scroll down to the bottom of the list of
teams in the team select screen and EA Sports 1 and EA Sports 2 will now appear.

If you have trouble doing this then try this:
Go to the credits screen. When the picture of the programmers come up type pioneer and click the mouse button.
On the next screen type pioneer and click the mouse. On the last screen type pioneer also and then click the mouse.
When you have done this you will be able to play EA Sports 1 and EA Sports 2 team. Good luck!
Get the 3rd jersey
To get access to the 3rd jersey's for some teams (Vancouver, Pittsburgh, Anaheim and Los Angeles) then just
click on a team logo at the controller setup screen. You will hear a strange sound if you made it.
Fight any time you want to
In order to be able to drop the gloves and duke it out any time you want to in NHL '97 you must do the following: In game play hold
down the Shift key and type W A G D If you typed the code in properly, you will now just have to tap the F key whenever you want
to fight.
Tiny players with huge sticks
To make the players on the ice be really small and carry huge sticks in NHL '97 you must do the following: In game play hold down
the Shift key and type W A G D If you typed the code in properly, you will be able to shrink your players by tapping the T key 20
times.
After typing shift+WAGD there are some other codes:
P key = end of period
O key = end of 3 period (overtime if game is tie)
G key = end of game (if it is tie, it end tie)
H key = goal for home-team
V key = goal for visiting-team
1 key = a 2 min penalty for holding for the defending team (that hasn't the puck)
2 key = a 4 min penalty for tripping for the defending team.
At least the player shrink every time you tap the T key and they grow by pressing shift T (they become really big)
If you press your code (Shift + WAGD) you can also get a penalty shot for the team with the puck by pressing 5.
If you press 4 the team without the puck gets a 5min. penalty for spearing.
If you press I as soon as they check you or you check them there will be a injured player. (Thanxs to David for this one)
