Made it's debut in the Formula one calendar in 1986, with Nelson Piquet in the Williams-Honda taking the first ever checkered flag at the Hungaroring, and Ayrton Senna in the Lotus-Renault as runner up. Jean's first F1-experience at the track was in 1989 with a 9th place in the Tyrell as a result. Jean's best result is a third place, 1996 in the Benetton. The Hungaroring is a narrow and twisty track with few overtaking possibilities, and a high down force circuit.
