What can you expect when you start at the 21th spot ? Not to much...
A early pit-stop to change the nose, after Jean hit Panis didn't help eider. He finished
however in 8th place. The race seemed to belong to the McLaren of Mika
Häkkinen, but refueling problems at the first pit-stop and later on a heavy crash didn't
make he's day... The other Mika, Salo, took the lead but let Eddie Ervine past to score
he's third formula one victory. A great day to be a tifosi, but not to grate to be a
Alefosi.Qualifying
Disaster again for Jean in Qualifying, only 21th on the grid with only Takagi in the
Arrows behind him.
Preview
No points since San Marino, and a series of missfortune, a option on a Ferraridrive and a
second on the grid. This 1999 season has been a very frustrating season this far for us
Alesi-fans. Jean is always at full throttle and I really like it so, but please Jean! Let
the Sauber get to the finish-line in Germany and in the points to. We know you can do it,
if just the car and the fuel witch are with us.
Germany 1998
Jean's words after the 1998 German GP:
"The start was not so good for me because when Wurz
nearly stalled I had to lift off and move to the left to avoid hitting him. I lost some
ground as a result, but was able to make it up in the traffic.
After that I pushed hard all the race. The car was fine and gave me absolutely no problem
today, but it just wasn't quick enough. But I am happy for the team because whatever the
position, it was important that we finished. Now we can start to build again to score
points in Hungary." |
