Trulli - or if the apes peel bananas
That was again once a crazy Grand Prix weekend. And
as two weeks ago ago in Barcelona it was the Italian Jarno Trulli who ruined it.
You can explain to the Prost driver for hours. He
does not understand , it is eisier to explain to an ape, how one peels the bananas.
The fact that the FIA commissioners at the end
classified the crash after its wild start internal message by the meadow as normal racing
accident appeared a little strange to me. To say nothing more.
This Trulli, which has problems actually almost in
each race with any opponent, the red card must finally be shown. And that can only the
world federation do.
I was also an impetuous newcomer. And a superstar
had problems with me at the beginning of my Formel-1-career 1989 likewise - Nigel Mansell.
There in Hockenheim I had to begin to go to the GP race-stewart Roland Bruynseraede.
I hear its words still today: "Young one, you
is new in the business and some of the top drivers are troubled by you. So take it easy,
another crazy move by you and you will be a spectator for the next three races"
Note: At that time there were almost no rules how
to drive. Today we have strict regulations, at each driver drivers meeting a warning
finger is raised to remind us.
And then one lets such a fool such as Trulli be
unpunished its nuisance.
You can believe me one thing: Montreal would be, as
the Grand Prix developed, my race. Because the Sauber is now very fast - and I love
this cirquit as well as the Canadian fans.
So after my 8th on the grid. I stopped and threw
the helmet in the public. As thanks for the moral support for many years.
And then I am on the race day - like 1998 - again
only nine seconds on the way. Up to the first corner. And again because of Trulli. Now my
Montreal records is: five times on the podium, five times retired...
Three houes before the race I got the news that my
old Ferrari and Benetton buddy Gerhard Berger as new BMW racing director, had won the
insanity in Le Mans. Perhaps none more than I wish him this success.
Nevertheless, dear Gerhard, you slowly gets the
profile of a legend. Of Mercedes racing conductor Alfred Neubauer, who had cared for the
old silver arrows in the 50's. Alfred was heavy over 120 Kilos... And there is to still no
pregnant men. wach out, Gerhard!
