Austrian GP Preview
No points since San Marino, and a series of missfortune, a option on a Ferraridrive and a
second on the grid. This 1999 season has been a very frustrating season this far for us
Alesi-fans. Jean is always at full throttle and I really like it so, but please Jean! Let
the Sauber get to the finish-line in Austria and in the points to. We know you can do it,
if just the car keeps in one peace.
Austria 1998
Jean's words after the 1998 Austrian GP:
"We used a longer first gear today, and because of
that I didn't get the necessary amount of wheelspin at the start so the engine just pulled
away relatively gently and I lost some places straight away.
Giancarlo and I left the pits side by side after our first stops, fighting for fourth
place, but I had a light fuel load and as I braked for the corner he just disappeared
behind me. As I turned into it he slid into me, and we both spun. Because of the long
first gear, and the steep uphill gradient in that corner, the engine stalled when I tried
to restart.
I never like to have accidents, but it's even worse when you have them with somebody that
you like, and I really like Giancarlo! " |
